Accidental Death Coverage


Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage provides a benefit for any accident resulting in death, dismemberment, loss of use, sight, speech, or hearing. Sussex Insurance offers a FutureSafe product that is available to Canadian residents between the ages of 18 and 64, with coverage terminating when the insured reaches 65 years of age.

Coverage pays the following benefits:

  • Education Benefit
  • Day-Care Benefit
  • Rehabilitation Benefit
  • Hospital Indemnity
  • Common Disaster Benefit
  • Seat Belt Benefit
  • Home Alteration &/ or Vehicle Modification Benefit
  • Workplace Modification & Accommodation Benefit
  • Aircraft Coverage
  • Exposure and Disappearance
  • Occupational Training Benefit
  • Family Transportation Benefit

However, the policy does not cover any Loss, fatal or non-fatal, caused or contributed by:

  • Suicide or intentionally self-inflicted injury
  • War, whether declared or not
  • Participation in a riot, insurrection, civil commotion or disturbance
  • Active full-time, part-time or temporary service in the armed forces
  • Medical treatment or surgery, unless such treatment or surgery was needed because of an Accident

You can buy a varying amount of coverage based on how much you feel you would require. Sample rates are shown below and increased payable amounts are available for a greater premium.

  • $50,000 = $8.00/month
  • $100,000 = $15.00/month
  • $150,000 = $20.75/month
  • $200,000 = $24.50/month
  • $250,000 = $28.25/month
